Pulau Pinang 26 Mac 2013 - In the on going
MSSM cricket carnival, Perak pulled off a thrilling 2 run win against Johor in
the under 12 category. Batting first Perak were bowled out for a paltry 50
runs. Spirited bowling and excellent fielding by the Perak juniors restricted
Johor to 48 runs .
Negeri Sembilan showed their class against
Penang in another match at the Batu Lanchang ground. Negeri Sembilan put in to
bat scored 198runs in their 25 overs with M.Faqhrul Asyraf scoring a solid
52runs and ably assisted by Mohd Farouq b Mustakim who scored a brisk 37 runs
from 32 balls which included 4 fours and one six.
In the under 18 category. Penang calked up
their first win of the tournament by
beating Johor at the Penang Free school ground. Johor managed to score 136runs
in their 30 overs with Mohammad shahir top scoring with 74 runs. In reply
Penang managed to pass the target on the 29th over with Jeevantra
contributing a solid 62 runs to stear Penang to a 5 wicket win.
